    HistoryAmerican artist Richard Alden Griffin was one of the leading designers of psychedelic posters in the 1960s. He was also a contributor to the underground comics movement, and his work appeared regularly in Zap Comix. He was also known for his work within the surfing subculture, and he was a staff artist at Surfer Magazine, where he created his surfing comic strip about a surfer named Murphy.
