A panoramic photograph of Sydney Harbour, about 1920, by E.B.Studios, 278 George Street Sydney [John H Enemark]. The view is directly across from North Sydney to Millers Point, west into Iron Cove, and east to Rose Bay. It includes the railway sheds at Lavender Bay which served the ferry connection at Milsons Point, sailing ships moored in various parts of the harbour, ferries out of Circular Quay, and a warship in Farm Cove. The steam yacht ISIS (without its funnel) lies in Berrys Bay, along with a hulked ship, and the Waverton coal loader is seen to the right.

SignificanceThe photograph gives an excellent view of Sydney Harbour and the vessels, activities, and important maritime locations in the decade before Sydney Harbour bridge was built.
HistoryE.B. Studios was a partnership between John H Enemark and Hilda Bridges, operating at 278 George Street Sydney between 1917 and 1926. His niece Anne M Enemark took over the business after his death. Enemark took numerous panoramic photographs in Sydney, New South Wales country towns, and Canberra. Collections of these photographs are held at the National Library of Australia and at the State Library of Victoria.
