This photograph of BRITANNIA, captured on the far right, SYDNEY second from the right and FLORRIE in the center, are competing in a close race with other 18ft skiffs on Sydney Harbour.
History18ft skiff racing was an entertaining sport for spectators. Its origins are attributed to Mark Foy and a group of businessmen who founded the Sydney Flying Yacht Squadron, reportedly established on 19 October 1891.

BRITANNIA and its skipper Georgie Robinson were prominent figures in 18ft skiff racing between the two world wars.
