User Terms

The ship's wash stand is a standard item of cabin furniture probably dating to the turn of the 20th century or earlier. The grey paint is unlikely to be original and may reflect a later use, but the stand is complete with its basin and the bucket which would have been emptied by a steward.
SignificanceThe wash stand is an excellent example of a common item of ships cabin furniture.
