SignificanceSouvenirs from cruises were kept as momentos of what for many people were 'once in a lifetime' voyages.
HistoryIn 1970 Sitmar Line lost their Australian Government contract to bring out migrants to Australia. They consequently turned to Cruising to make money, changing their name in the process to Sitmar Cruises. In 1988 they were bought out by P&O Line, becoming P&O Sitmar Cruises until becoming P&O Holidays in 1991.
