    This promotional poster was printed for the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musical romantic comedy movie 'On an Island with You'. It was printed by Offset Printing Company in Sydney, Australia in 1948. The film starred Esther Williams, Peter Lawford, Ricardo Montalbán, Cyd Charisse and Kathryn Beaumont. The poster features an image of Esther Williams in a pink bathing suit, reclining against a palm tree. Images of the other stars of the film and scenes from the film also feature on the poster.

    History'On an Island with You' was a musical romantic comedy released in 1948 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was the second movie that paired Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalbán together. The film was directed by Richard Thorpe and starred Esther Williams, Ricardo Montalbán, Cyd Charisse and Peter Lawford. Williams played the role of Rosalind Reynolds, a swimming movie star who goes to Hawaii to shoot a movie, taking her fiance Ricardo Montez (Ricardo Montalbán) with her. Cyd Charisse plays Reynolds' fellow movie star and best friend, Yvonne Torro, who is in love with Ricardo Montez and Peter Lawford plays the role of Lawrence Kingsley, a military technical advisor for Reynolds' movie, who eventually falls in love with Reynolds. Williams sprained her ankle while shooting the film and had to finish filming on crutches.
