    This Kleinerts Sava-Wave rubber swimming cap was worn by Jean Dunsworth on the cruise boats ORIANA in 1968 and the ORONSAY in 1970. It features a textured pattern of layered triangular rubber spikes, with a flower petal embellishment at the crown of the head.
    SignificanceThis swimming cap is representative of beach and pool fashions of 1960s.
    HistoryDuring the 1960s extravagantly decorated rubber swimming caps were very much in vogue. Often designed by milliners, caps were brightly coloured, appliquéd with flowers or ribbons, or moulded into shapes.
