    This ship model represents the bulk carrier MV TNT ALLTRANS at a scale of 1:50. It was made by Hitachi Shipbuilding in Osaka, Japan. This carrier played a role in the commercial trade of aluminia in Australia. It is a typical ship builder's model of the 1980s made from plastic instead of the traditional materials of the life size vessel.

    HistoryTNT ALLTRANS is a diesel bulk self discharging carrier built in 1983 by Hitachi Shipbuilding Osaka, Japan for the purpose of carrying alumina. It is owned by McIlwraith McEacharn Alltrans Melbourne and managed by ASP Ship Management Group Melbourne, Australia. It is used on the route from Gladstone, Queensland to Bluff, New Zealand and Bunbury, Western Australia to Bell Bay, Tasmania.

    On 25 March 1985 ALLTRANS grounded on the coast of Lady Musgrave Island as it travelled from Gladstone, Queensland to Bluff, New Zealand. The ship was refloated and repaired. ALLTRANS is currently (2009) operating for ASP Ship Management.
