    Letter to Oskar Speck from his friend Arens handwritten in German over one page with text on one side only. Dated 30 april 1935, the letter mentions Oskar's arrival in Colombo, and about an enclosed Export certificate for a Leica camera.
    Translation
    • Cachin, 30 April 1935 PO Box 23 Dear Mr Speck, I hope that you have had a fortunate journey and that you have received my little letter upon your arrival in Colombo. Please find enclosed the “export certificate” for the Leica camera which [illegible, paper damaged] I sent off from Wetzlar with the relevant [illegible, damaged]. Furthermore, I am enclosing paper clippings which will be of interest to you. How did the journey to Colombo go in your little nutshell? We are scouring the papers here with great interest for reports about your endeavours. I hope that you will have a pleasant stay in Colombo and that you will recuperate well from the strain. I say farewell with the best wishes for the future from me and my wife. Heil Hitler! Yours truly, Arens
