    Translation
    • Surabaya 3 March 1938 German Consulate General Batavia I would like to refer to my letters of 4 and 9 February. You wrote in your reply of February 12 that you had contacted the Algemeenen Secretaris in Buitenzorg in regard to the matter. For this, I would like to express my gratitude, and furthermore, ask for the matter to be settled as soon as possible. I have to leave Surabaya on 24 March in order to return to my boat and belongings, otherwise my next opportunity [to leave] would not be before May. Thanking the Consulate General in advance for its assistance, Heil Hitler
