    Translation
    • Surabaja 28/1/39 Dear Sir, th Your letter to the German Consulate-General in Batavia dd. 18 of this month was sent to me in await of a reply; the accompanying letters dd. 31/8/38 and 1/11/38 for inspection are enclosed. The German Consulate-General has no information in this regard and supposes that the delay is connected with the transfer of the amount via clearance. So far the Clearing House in Batavia has no information on this either. As soon as I learn something of the receipt of the amount, I will report to you immediately. Perhaps it is possible to remit an advance on the amount to Mr Speck, as it is as good as certain the Clearing House in Batavia will receive the money very shortly and pay it out to you. The German Consul Mr Bartel Troje [BACK OF PAGE:] Van Domselaar
