    Translation
    • [Postcard] F.F.K. Trautmann, Kedondong, 10 November 1937 Dear Mr. Speck Many thanks for your letter from Dili on Timor. We are all very pleased to hear you are healthy and happy. I was also very glad to receive the picture, which was probably taken by a nephew of mine. I showed your card around one evening at our place when there were many compatriots present who know you, and also Dutchmen. Everybody was very interested. - We are all well, despite recurring bouts of malaria. We wish you a pleasant journey and by the time you read these lines you will probably have arrived there. We also wish you also a Merry Christmas and lots ofmuch success. A sSeparate congratulations (including a firm handshake) for the sporting success you have finally achieved due toas a result of your iron determinationwill. I hope the homeland will not deny you the recognition you deserve for that. And don’t forget my brother. His address is Fritz Trautmann, Gunalda N.C.L., Queensland, Australia. I’m off to Germany for holidays on 6 December. Perhaps you will drop me a line. My address there is Pension von Haxthausen, Kurfuerstendam Berlin W. 15. Best regards from all of us and a good start to the New Year. Cheers Heil Hitler Yours [Signature]
