    • Hotel Lawoe – Sarangan Sarangan 12 [illeg.] 1938 We received your letter dated 4 June 1938 and hope that you will receive this one in time at Krepang. We were glad to hear that your ear was better and hope that it’s perfectly all right again by the time you start your big journey. As you can see, we are here at Sarangan for a holiday and are really enjoying it. The Eggers family is here as well and they send their regards. I shall send you the expoert coupons in my next letter. The parcel was accepted by friends of mine in SoerabaiaSurabaya. I shall open it later and keep it in accordance with your wishes and send the notes on to the next address. I received the parcel from Dr. Kapelle, so many thanks. You know that I keep all these types of things for posteritylater, so many thanks again. Unfortunately, I didn’t speak to the lady myself, since I was sick during those final days before our departure to Sarangan and couldn’t go. I would have loved to have heard something about you personally.. I spoke to Mr. Scholz before I left and he was very pleased to tell me he had heard from you. He receives very little mail. When he got back from a big trip he received your news and he would be extremely pleased if he could‘d hear from you every now and then. He is followings your journey with great interest. I shall tell Mr. Liesenfeld all about you when I get back. He will have to be patient until then. The Fiand family has had a new addition, a daughter, Johanna Edith. You prophesied that it would be twins, so you are not a very good fortune teller. I tried yet again again to win the big lottery, but didn’t, unfortunately. So I'm pinningut my hopes intoon the next time. There isare no other news, so I remain wWith the best regards Your Domselaars Added in different handwriting] Dear Mr. Speck Thank you very much for the nice hat. It suits me. We had a few letters from Tilly in which she asks if we have heard from you. I’ll wrtiewrite a longer letter next time. Best regards GessieGerrie.
