    • [Aeirogram sent to Oscar Walter Speck, Sender L.H. Weber, Semarang, Java] Semarang, 27 August 1938 Dear Mr. Speck, Many thanks for you your letter. I’m attempting to write back in German, but you’ll have to excuse my mistakes. I’m glad you are so well. I found the following notice in the Daily News in June: [A passage in Dutch, apparently a quote from the newspaper] Did you understand that? Well, it said that after an sicknessillness you departed for Portuguese Timor on the “Valentyn” three weeks ago. So hopefully you are better now. How is your ear? Is itIt is o.k.better again alreadyyet? Mr. Domselaar was here two weeks ago. He told us you are still waiting for your folding boat. Apart from that, I have heard nothing else from SoerabaiaSurabaya. My dear Mr. Speck, I hope that your journey will will come to a happy conclusion, without any more sickness or attacks and with God’s blessing. If you have the time, please write again; I’ willd respond post haste. I am quite well myself. For now, dear Mr. Speck, have a good trip and keep your return home in mind. Many kind regards and best wishes, Tilli Weber
