    • Günter Köhler Batavia I.G. Farbenindustrie A.G. 19 February 1938 Plant Agfa Berlin Branch Office: Geo. Wehry & Co. Batavia To: Mr. Oskar Speck Currently at: Bima/Soembawa Dear Mr. Speck, I have received your letter from Surabaya of 10th of this month. Unfortunately, I must inform you that your view of the matter is not correct and that you are still required to discharge your debt of fl. 64.23. Agfa and Mr. Garn, respectively, arranged the following special conditions: 1. delivery of all material at extremely good net prices, 2. provision of 150m of reversal film free of charge and 3. payment of import duty for 300m of reversal film, telephoto lens and yellow filter through Agfa. In your letter of 7 April 1937 from Bali, to the attention ofaddressed to Mr. Garn, you ordered a further 500m of reversal film and requested that thisese to be sent to Bima. You also informed him , that you wanted to pay for this directly with Agfa in Germany for it directly. In the event that this was not possible, you wrote further, then payment would again be transferred from Karachi. Based on this, Mr. Garn wrote to you on 9 April 1937, informing you that 5 reels of 30m each were on their way and that you would have to pay via Karachi, due to foreign exchange regulations which prohibited the delivery of goods that were paid for in Germany. In your letter from Dili on Timor, dated 13 July 1937, you confirmed the receipt of the 150m of film and notifiedy us, that you had not had thane opportunity to correspond with Karachi. Therefore, Mr. Garn therefore assumed that paymentnebt would be delayed for a while. However, as at the time of writing the payment has failed to not arrived to date. It is for this reason that I must therefore ask you once again to ensure payment offor the films as soon as possible. Hail Hitler Signature
