    Translation
    • TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN By virtue of our signatures we hereby certify that on transporting the German internees from the Internment Camp Enoggera (Queensland) on 9 February 1940, we saw Sergeant Jeffries take a small German pennant out of the suitcase of the internee O. Speck (64) and put it in his pocket. Later on, Sergeant Jeffries showed the pennant to Captain Morton, who gave it back to Jeffries after he had read the inscription. Sergeant Jeffries put the pennant back into his pocket and did not return it to O. Speck. Internment Camp Tatura 5 March 1940 Signatures
