    • O. Speck Q.64 No.14 A Interment Camp 4th Military District South Australia 11.9.1944 To: Consul of the Federal Government of Switzerland Mr. J.A.Pietzcker, Temple Court, 422-28 Collins St Melbourne Dear Consul Pietzcker, I confirm receipt of your letters dated 11/8 and 24/8 and wish to thank you for your assistance. Regarding compensation for the marked clothing, our representative for Camp Tatura 1 (Mr. Junge) told us at the time that it had been decided that we would be compensated after the war. Junge possibly received instructions from the Australian military authority, so I would like to ask you to question Junge in this regard during your next family visit to the camp. Had it not been for Junge’s information, I would certainly have taken the matter up, especially when I was the representative at the Queensland camp. Now that 4 ½ years have gone by, everything will be much more complicated. Still, I am very hopeful that the Swiss Embassy will also be able to rectify this matter. Thanking you in advance for your assistance in this regard and regarding the theft of my cameras, At your service Oskar Speck
