    • Pulo Mandaliki, 3.2.37 Left Semarang on 1.2. Consul Schaefer, B..? and Ziegfeld and Kuenzler were present. Weather good and I got as far as just short of Japera. Entered a wrong bay by mistake. Slept in the boat. Beautiful sunset. The next morning I went across to Japera. Mouth of the river rather difficult to pass. Photo [illegible]. Made a phone call to [illegible]. Result: appointment cancelled. Now had to go to Pulo Mandaliki. Good weather and arrived at Mandaliki at 4 o'clock. Went to the guard at the lighthouse to fetch drinking water. People very friendly. Slept in the boat. Lots of rain overnight. Bad weather. Strong winds and can't continue. Went back to the guard at the lighthouse and slept there. Weather gets stormier. Strong rain. Hopefully it'll be better tomorrow, otherwise I'll be missed by [illegible]
