    • Ambon, 30.11.37 Arrived at the military hospital on Saturday, November 27 in the morning, around 8 o’clock. The interview with the head physician and the Major was at 9.30. I was admitted. On the 29th around 10 am the first check-up took place. It only took a few minutes and it turned out hat I have to go to Surabaya for an operation. There is a steamer leaving from here on the 30th , but I can’t take that one because my [illegible] is not in order yet. Will now probably take the KPM steamer leaving here on 3rd December. I haven’t received any information yet. I treat myself as before and also receive a [illegible] tablet 4 times a day. Went to see A.R. today. He was very friendly and arranged for me to be able to catch the KPM steamer which leaves here now on 2 Dec. He asked me if I had any objections to travelling 2nd class. I also went to see Dr. [illegible] He was rather strange, but that didn’t really surprise me. He told me that he had had an operation on his head during the war. That explaines everything.
