    This archive series numbered [001] - [381] consists of documents and photographs taken by amateur ferry and speed boating historian Graeme Andrews relating to inshore and offshore speedboat racing, and Ken Warby's hydroplane SPIRIT OF AUSTRALIA. It includes 325 photographs and negatives, brochures, cards, drawings, leaflets, magazine and newspaper clippings, manuscripts, map, programs, and transparencies.
    SignificanceThis collection illustrates the boom era of speedboating in the decades after World War II. The increasing affordability and widespread use of cars, engines and the advent of mass production made speedboating affordable and the sport became a popular pastime.
