    This collection of 49 newspaper clippings, compiled by John Watt, relate to the Port of Newcastle, New South Wales.
    HistoryThe clippings feature articles on the history of the port, dredging, views of Newcastle Harbour, berths at the Port, a number of vessels arriving and leaving the Port, construction of the new bridge, sea trials and a number of vessels wrecked, stranded or damaged off Newcastle including the stranding of the steamer MAIANBAR, the freighter IRON MONARCH and the collier MINMI, the grounding of the freighter HOLLYPARK, the wreck of the ADOLPHE and the steamer GWYDIR wrecked on a reef. The clippings span the period 1937 - 1989.
