    This archive series consists of personal papers belonging to Alex Nypl (Newman) which relate to his migration from Germany to Australia on SS PROTEA in 1948. It includes a letter from the Commonwealth Employment Service notifying Alex Nypl (Newman) of his employment as labourer with the Department of Works and Housing, a certificate of exemption issued by the Minister for Immigration, a baggage and berthing ticket for the voyage on SS PROTEA, and a provisional passport issued to Nypl as a stateless person and person of undetermined nationality.
