Elizabeth Gertsakis

born 1954

Elizabeth Gertsakis is a Melbourne-based artist, academic and curator who was born in Florina, Greece in 1954. She has a BA (HONS) from University of Melbourne (1976); a Dip.Ed from LaTrobe University (1978); and an MA (Critical Theory) from the Centre for Comparative Studies, Monash University (1995).

Elizabeth has published widely on the arts and held successful solo exhibitions as well particpating in group ones. She has also curated many art shows and been a teacher and guest lecturer around Australia. Her own works are held in the collections of the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the Australian National Gallery, Griffith University Collection and Waverley City Gallery, and now ANMM.
