Robert Wendel was a lithographic draftsmen and artist active during the latter half of the nineteenth century. He was a long-time collaborator of German-born lithographer and printer Charles Trödel (1835-1906), who moved to Melbourne, Australia in 1860. Wendel produced many of the posters in the so-called Trödel Collection that is currently held by the La Trobe Library, Melbourne as well as the chromolithographs of the 'New South Wales Album', published in 1878.
