Institution: Challenge
From about 1927, the Australian company Challenge offered a range of swimwear in bright colours, made from unshinkable wools that offered more freedom to the wearer.

Challenge was a subsidury of the softgoods merchants and manufacturers, D W Murray Ltd, who were by the 1920s producing fashionable swimsuits at local knitting mills. Becomming one of Australia's largest softgoods suppliers, D W Murray was founded in 1853, and operated in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland until 1971.
